Fort Scott High will play Tuesday

BASEHOR -- Both of Fort Scott High School's basketball teams will play here Tuesday in the first round of the Basehor-Linwood Bobcat Invitational.

Fort Scott's boys will play Bonner Springs at 4:30 while the girls will take on Holton at 6 p.m.

The first round begins Monday afternoon. The girls' top seed St. Joseph-Benton (Mo.) will take on Bonner Springs at 3 p.m. with host Basehor-Linwood taking on St. Teresa's Academy of Kansas City, Mo. at 6:30.

Benton's boys will play at 4:30 against Park Hill, Mo. while Platte County takes on top-seeded Pembroke Hill of Kansas City, Mo. at 7:30.

Tuesday's first girls' game has Platte County squaring off against Park Hill at 3. The last game Tuesday will be a boys' match featuring Basehor-Linwood and Holton at 7:30.

First-round losers will play Wednesday with the winner off until Thursday. The seventh- and fifth-place games in each bracket will be played Friday with the third-place and championship games to be held Saturday.

Game times each day will be at 3, 4:30, 6 and 7:30.

Fort Scott's girls are the defending champion, beating Basehor-Linwood, 32-29, in last year's finals. Tiger boys finished second to St. Joseph Central, which is not back this year.
