GARY LEE KNIGHT

Gary Lee Knight, age 61, of Edwardsville, Kan., passed away on Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, surrounded by his loved ones at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Keith Worthington chapter of the A.L.S. association in care of the funeral home.

Gary was born on Oct. 17, 1945 in Kansas City, Mo. He grew up in Kansas City, Kan., graduating from Wyandotte High School.

He worked as a mechanic at UPS in Lenexa, Kan., for 28 years, retiring in January of 2003. He was a longtime member of the Oakland Park Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kan. His passions were with the love of the Lord and being with his family, whether it be hunting, boating, fishing or bowling.

He was preceded in death by one son, Thom Knight, in 2002. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Sherry Knight, of the home; two sons, Don Knight and wife Deana, and Scott Knight and wife Lisa, all of Edwardsville; and one daughter-in-law, Mysty McGee of Bonner Springs; one brother Dale and wife Gloria Knight of Kansas City, Kan; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many other friends and family.

Arrangements are being planned by the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, Kan., 66012.
