Plans being made for Operation Christmas Child coming this fall

Visitors with Les and Mary Seaver, Aug. 13, were Cassidy Soltren, Zachary, Abbey and Jenny Denton and Jo' Soltren. They brought "Grandma and Grandpa" treats of root beer floats.

Pam and Eldon Korinek, Ruby Alice Myers and Lucille Wolf enjoyed dinner at Chicken Mary's on Aug. 6.

Clara Schofield sand "I Believe in a Hill Called Mount Calvary" at the Diamond Community Church on Aug. 13. Joan Kollar's sermon was entitled "Why Are You Here Today?" based on Psalms 122 and Hebrews 10:19-25. She introduced us to the Tater family, father, Spec Tater, mother, Emma Tater, son, Agi Tater, and daughter, Partica Tater; asking us which one we were. Joan will be in charge of Operation Christmas Child this fall. This is a project where shoe boxes are filled with toys, candy, school supplies, etc. for needy children in other countries.

Dorothy Ketner, Anna Rourk, Nellie Kalm and Esther Secrest enjoyed a "Ladies Day Out" with lunch at the Pepper Mill in Girard on Aug. 2.

Eldon and Pam Korinek drove to El Dorado Springs, Mo. on Aug. 5.

The Ron Carr family enjoyed a recent vacation trip to Des Moines, Iowa, the Mall of America in Minn., Cameron, Wis. and a tour of Lake Superior.

Dana Button was honored with a birthday dinner at Los Primos on Aug. 13. Those helping her celebrate were her husband, Barry, and daughter, Alyssia, Dale and Betty Hixon, Denton and Annette Hixon and Raven, Mike Hixon and Esther Secrest.

Jon Bingesser visited his grandmother, Dorothy Martens, on Aug. 14, when he was coming home from Beloit, Kan. where he had a job as a lifeguard at the Beloit swimming pool for the summer. He will attend PSU this fall.

Visitors with Edna Mae Marsh on Aug. 11 were Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Harvey, Vian, Okla. and Ada Jean Chaffin, Independence, Mo.
