Mattie Nelle Dixon, 98, former resident of Fort Scott, Kan., passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, at the Medicalodge in Frontenac, Kan. She was born in Pittsburg, Kan., on Feb. 14, 1924, to John W. Gier and Mattie (Winterbower) Gier. She married Floyd J. Dixon, Jr. on Sept. 21, 1941. He preceded her in death May 9, 1988...
