Board approves agreement for boys' swimming program

The USD 234 Board of Education on Monday approved a cooperative agreement with two area high schools for boys’ swimming during the 2019-20 season. Fort Scott High School Activities/Athletic Director Jeff DeLaTorre informed the board that Angie Kemmerer, gifted teacher at the high school, asked him about the possibility of adding boys swimming as an activity at the high school. The Fort Scott High School Tiger football team, which begins practice Monday, has a new opportunity to prepare for competition this season.
