Bourbon County Commissioners on Thursday canvassed ballots from the Aug. 7 Primary Election. In Bourbon County, there were 82 provisional ballots submitted to the commissioners for various reasons. Of those, the commissioners did not count one because the voter did not show identification at the poll or at the county clerk’s office by 10 a.m. Thursday. Storm leaves trees damaged, power outages in its wake

Commissioners say they will not raise mill levy No additional deputies, bridge crew

Bourbon County Commissioners worked Tuesday afternoon to create a budget with no mill levy increase for 2019. That meant eliminating increases that totaled nearly 11 additional mills: 7.7 mills from the sheriff and corrections requests; about a half a mill for additional economic development funds; and the nearly three additional mills to fund a bridge crew in the Public Works Department...
