WINFIELD -- Fort Scott High School senior Jennifer Harrison saw her high-school tennis career end here Friday at the Class 4A State Tournament here. Harrison finished the season 15-7 in singles play with a 1-2 mark here and was 12-2 in doubles for an overall record of 27-9. She won at least 20 matches in singles and doubles each of her four years and finished 74-41 in singles matches and 17-5 in doubles for a total of 91-46...

'Hounds break losing streak in Sims' return to Fort Scott

Another season of music in the downtown area is winding down. Ralph Carlson, organizer of the weekly Friday Night Concert Series sponsored by the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce, said the Friday concert will be the last show of the season for the concert series, which began in May. The series, which is free and open to the public, typically runs through October each year...

Raeanne Lea Farmer, 51 of Fort Scott, died Tuesday morning, Oct. 20, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott. Funeral arrangements for Raeanne Lea Farmer are incomplete and will be announced later by the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
