Jeanette K. Littleton, age 71, a resident of Fort Scott, died Thursday, Aug. 20 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo. Funeral services for Jeanette Littleton will be announced by the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main St., Fort Scott.

Fort Scott Community College students who like to bounce ideas off one another while studying have a new place to gather. The Student Union in Bailey Hall has been partitioned off and the east side is reserved for groups of students who wish to study together. The site is named Student Success Center (SSC) Tutoring Center, and is adjacent to the SSC Research and Technology area. The research area has computer stations available...

Fort Scott City Commissioners heard updates on codes issues and improvement projects taking place in the city during their Tuesday meeting. Fort Scott High School's girls' tennis season begins Monday when the junior varsity plays host to a round-robin tournament. The varsity schedule begins Thursday with a tournament at Parsons.
