The Bourbon County Commissioners took a field trip Tuesday to see what work needs to be done in a ditch at the Fort Scott Industrial Park. They met with Kevin "Skitch" Allen, who has been asking for something to be done for several months. Allen, who has a business at the industrial park, said a contractor went through laying fiber optic lines -- sometimes boring and sometimes digging. ...

Some artistic mementos at Fort Scott High School will soon need a home. Ellen Kendrick, art teacher at FSHS, said she is looking to contact former art students to claim works of art they created on ceiling tiles in the art classroom, which has long been located in the old Juco wing -- the three-story structure on the campus. The Juco wing is slated for demolition this summer as part of the approved USD 234 school bond issue to make district-wide improvements...

PITTSBURG -- Uniontown's golfers struggled mightily here Monday and finished their season at the Colgan Class 2A Regional Golf Tournament with a disappointing team score of 536.
