SALINA -- Fort Scott High School freshman Derek Bollinger finished sixth in the 132-pound weight class in the Class 4A State Wrestling Tournament here Saturday, earning his first high-school level State medal. Bollinger (35-15) was one of three Tigers to qualify for State, all of whom were freshmen. Alex Gorman, at 120 pounds, and Zarek Fewell, at 138, were eliminated in two matches on Friday. The Paola Class 4A-Division I Sub-State Tournament, which begins Thursday night, was seeded Saturday. The boys' side of the bracket was seeded as expected while Fort Scott High's girls may have benefited from a coin toss. The boys' semifinals will be held Thursday night with Fort Scott (14-6) opening things up as the top seed against No. 4 Louisburg (6-14).
