Raymond "Ray" F. Brooks, age 88 of Joplin, Mo., passed away at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. Ray was born on Oct. 7, 1926 in Webb City, Mo., the son of Frank Elliott and Juanita (Cobb) Brooks. He worked for many years as a sewing machine mechanic at Key Work Clothes, Burlington Manufacturing, YouthCraft, Bill Kaiser and Missouri Sewing Machine before retiring in 2000. ...

She was born July 20, 1947 in Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of Joe Cannon and Sophia Mildred (Ballinger) Olive. Richard E. "Dick" Shores, age 77, resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at Fort Scott Manor. According to Dick's wishes, there will be no funeral service.
