Irene Mae Helm, formerly of Bronson, Kan., passed away on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at Medicalodges in Fort Scott, Kan. She was born April 5, 1930, and is survived by her husband of 28 years, James David Helm. A memorial service will take place Monday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. at Medicalodges under the direction of Chaplain Melissa George with Mercy Health Center. Lanny A. Roedel, 65, of Joplin, Mo., died peacefully in his sleep on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2014 after a long illness. Lanny was a retired union carpenter of Local 311 in Joplin.
