She was born Jan. 21, 1947, in Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of Ralph Dunlap and May Bertha Jackson Dunlap. ...

Bourbon County Commissioners on Monday received a final report on tax sales held in 2013. Attorney Dan Meara, who is hired to handle the legal portion of the sales, reported the tax sales brought in $428,468.85 for the county. After petitions were sent to property owners, $39,384.53 was redeemed prior to the three 2013 sales. Additional cases that were dismissed between legal steps in the procedure totaled $8,523.32...

OVERLAND PARK -- Fort Scott Community College's men's basketball program clinched its first division championship since 1967 when the Greyhounds beat Johnson County, 59-53, in a Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division II game here Saturday afternoon. The win put Fort Scott at 4-1 in the division and 11-16 overall and salvaged a season sweep with the Cavaliers (4-2, 10-19). ...
