Sunday night's storm dominated conversation at Monday's regular Bourbon County Commission meeting as the county began to assess exactly how much damage golf ball-size hail and strong winds inflicted upon the county. Bourbon County Emergency Manager Terri Coop is urging residents to report damage to their property or vehicles by emailing her office at em@bourboncountyks.org or bring your name, address phone number and a brief description of the damage to the county clerk's office or City Hall...

A hailstorm that blew through Bourbon County Sunday evening left a good deal of damage in its wake, and city officials are urging local residents affected by the storm to be careful, as many contractors, both local and outside the area, began scrambling for business...

Bourbon County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) organizers are on the hunt for more people to become involved with the program, which serves as a support system for area first responders. Brenda Boehm, team leader for Bourbon County CERT, said Friday that despite a "very low turnout" from the public - only three citizens attended - at an informational meeting which took place Wednesday at Memorial Hall, CERT officials brought away some ideas for recruitment and plans to take part in future events to increase community awareness of CERT.. ...
