Garden club meets; plans events for 2012

Fort Scott Garden Club members met at the home of Betty Hixon for its January session. Club collect was recited to open the meeting. Roll call was taken with 10 members present and with each person stating their New Year's resolution. Monthly themes were set for the new books and dates set for future events. A couple of those events planned are a trip to the Arboretum and Botannical Gardens in Overland Park, Kan., and the annual garage sale used to raise funds in April...

Fort Scott High School's wrestlers didn't have much trouble overall in their home Southeast Kansas League dual Tuesday night. The Tigers defeated Coffeyville 41-12 and Parsons 66-6.
