Andrew Daniel "Drew" Pelzer, 27, of Fort Scott, died at Mercy Hospital Friday evening, Aug. 19, 2011, following a four-wheeler accident. The Bourbon County Attorney's Office filed a criminal complaint Monday in the Bourbon County District Court charging 35-year-old Clifton Scott Kline, of Lyndon, with attempted murder in the second degree, aggravated battery, aggravated assault and violation of a protection order, a news release said...

All USD 234 teachers will receive small bonuses this year and some will also get pay increases following approval of an agreement between the USD 234 Board of Education and the Fort Scott Chapter of the Kansas National Education Association. After weeks of number crunching, the Bourbon County Commission has passed a budget with an increase less than was originally published.
