Area Agency on Aging purchases web access The Southeast Kansas Area Agency on Aging has purchased access to the Gold Standard Pharmacology website. The site has a program that checks for interactions between medicines, supplements and food. It will print an "Interaction Consumer Report" that includes possible interactions, suggested time gaps between some products, foods to avoid related to particular medicine and product duplication, a news release said...

District OKs budget

The USD 234 Board of Education unanimously approved a 2011-12 budget Monday that includes a 1.225 mill increase in the district's overall mill levy. The increase will raise the mill levy from last year's total of 42.743 mills to 43.968 mills and raise $122,400 to help offset more than $500,000 in state funding cuts and reductions due to declining enrollment. ...

Students and teachers will soon be starting another school year. It may seem that summer was too short and school days are long. But if you think about it, school does not really take up very much of a child's time. The average school year in the United States is 180 days. In need of more training on the TV channel changer

I think I have mentioned in past columns how the TV clicker in this family is controlled 90 percent of the time by one person in this family and that person sure isn't me. You guessed it, it is good old Bob. He has that clicker in his hand so much that I swear it is molded to fit his hands. His idea of watching TV is to continually switch from one station to another. As an example, he could have the Brewers on one station, a news station on another, or even a mystery show on another...
