Chlorine smell in city water to remain for the rest of the month

Many local citizens have been noticing a chlorine smell and possibly some discoloration to the city's water. The reason for this, according to Water Treatment Plant supervisor Michael Mix, is due to the city completing a "burnout." A burnout is done to flush the water distribution system and establish a "free chlorine residual." When a free chlorine residual is established, according to a public notice submitted by the city, normal chlorination will resume as normal...
