Kids Can Cook cooking classes offered

Youth who have completed second through fifth grade are invited to register for free cooking classes sponsored by K-State Research and Extension. Each class will consist of three morning (9 a.m. -- 11:30 p.m.) or afternoon (1 p.m.-3:30 p.m.) sessions. Locations will be in Fort Scott June 1-3, morning and afternoon; Bronson June 16-18, morning; and Uniontown June 16-18, afternoon. The Monday night dance was very good with a few more attending this week. Mary Sue had a little help with the table and chairs. She makes the coffee the first thing and it is ready soon after she is finished with the chairs. John and Bonnie Gaddy from Pittsburg were here early to help with them. Alva and Neva Hite were back Monday night. She has her arm in a cast and Alva is having heart trouble. He danced two or three dances though...

The Marmaton Valley Chapter of the Old Time Fiddler's and Picker's met May 9. There wasn't a large crowd in attendance, due to the meeting being held on Mother's Day.
