LaDonna Maxine DeLaney, 63, of Fort Scott, Kan., died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 at the Medicalodge of Fort Scott. She was born Sept. 13, 1946 in Independence, Kansas, the daughter of Donald Bengerman and Nora Madeline (Ewing) DeLaney. Survivors include a daughter; Donna Jean Carson of Fort Scott, a son; Stephen Allen Foss of Fort Collins, Colorado, a sister; Jean Nicoles of Fort Scott, four brothers; Martin Claspill of Seattle, Washington, Larry DeLaney, of Nevada, Mo., Douglas DeLaney, of Louisburg, Kan., and Donald DeLaney of Fort Scott, and three grandchildren; Megan Smith, Malachi Foss, and Shanč Carson.. ...

Two weeks ago Dave's coaching friends with the Toronto Blue Jays were fired. Even his boss, the head of minor league operations and another whom Dave really respects, was let go. Phone calls started early Wednesday afternoon, and when I got home from school, Dave was still talking to his buddies. Apparently the Jays were "cleaning house." I told Dave he was just one dust-bunny away from being wiped away...
