A second case of the 2009 H1N1 Influenza A virus has been confirmed in Bourbon County. According to the Bourbon County Emergency Management Office, a second case of the virus, commonly referred to as swine flu, was confirmed on Thursday. The new case was diagnosed in a child living in Bourbon County, and is not related to the first local case of the virus, which was diagnosed late last week in a Bourbon County adult, Bourbon County Public Health Nurse Alice Maffett said...

Citizens ask for assertion of 10th Amendment rights

Bourbon County residents approached the Bourbon County Commission in support of the 10th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America at Monday morning's meeting. Local residents Jack and Jess Black addressed the commissioners with a few requests. They asked the commission to write a letter in support of Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 1615 and to pass a resolution to "protect and defend the citizens of Bourbon County from martial law and tyranny ..."...
