While four-man and eight-man teams continue to pass through the Fort Scott time station today as they cross the country in the Race Across America, the solo riders are creating drama as they travel through Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. Almost all of the eight-man team had been through Fort Scott as of Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, the back half of the four-person field were expected to arrive overnight or early Thursday morning...

The Good neighbor Blitz, which began Thursday morning, is still seeking volunteers for home improvement projects throughout the weekend. Our beloved Parker Lea McKenney, 15, left us too soon on Tuesday, June 23rd. She was born August 8, 1993 in Fort Scott, Kansas, the daughter of Craig and Dana Marshall McKenney. Parker is survived by a sister; Angela McKenney and husband Michael Houlihan, of Fort Scott, KS, two brothers; Reece McKenney of Fort Scott, Kansas, and Drew Suddock and girlfriend April VanBecelaere, of Pittsburg, Kansas, Paternal Grandparents; Myla McKenney, Maternal Grandparents Kansas State Senator Bob and Judy Marshall, nephews; Kieran and Colin Houlihan, five uncles, two aunts, 26 cousins, and her posse of friends. ...
