Fort Scott High School's golf team has had a very good week. Tuesday, the Tigers had the best individual and team scores at their home tournament at Fort Scott Country Club. The results of the tournament also counted toward the Southeast Kansas League season championships since another league tournament had been rained out earlier in the season. Two new cases of the 2009 H1N1 influenza A virus were confirmed Wednesday in Johnson County, according to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. During Tuesday evening's Fort Scott City Commission meeting the commissioners accepted the bid from Golden Arrow Corporation/Judy's iron and Plumbing for the construction of a pavilion at Nelson Park.
