Raymond Allen Mapes, age 43, resident of Pittsburg, Kan., died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg, Kan.. He was born March 5, 1965, in Wichita, Kan., the son of George William Mapes, Sr. and Mary Luella McVey Mapes. Raymond was a 1982 graduate of Pittsburg High School. Morning fire forces tenants to evacuate apartments

Although residents who live in the Scottview Apartments were evacuated from their homes for a short period of time on Sunday, none of the tenants were injured during a fire which broke out inside the structure.
