President Riley Stephens called the May meeting of the Uniontown 4-H Club to order. Nineteen members answered roll call by naming their favorite bird. Holli Zellner led the members in a salute to the flag. Reed Gleason led the 4-H pledge. Leader Alicia Jackson told the members about a benefit dinner to be held for members of the Breanna Esslinger family. She invited members to help by donating food and serving the meal. The Redfield Community Ruritan Club met June 12, at the Redfield United Methodist Church Annex, with 12 members present. Following the potluck meal, the business meeting was held. Shawn Campbell, Zone Two Governor, was present. He presented Lewis Williams with a framed certificate and Ruritan pin recognizing Lewis as having been a member of the club for 40 years. When I think of Teen Town, I am immediately transported back to my high school days in Fort Scott. It was sheer magic. I wouldn't trade my high school days for anything. It (Teen Town) didn't look like magic, in fact it was held in our old YMCA building, that was an antique treasure. Don Collop is a chuckwagon cook. Cowboys on cattle drives referred to these cooks as "cookies." His camp is set up just like what you would see on a cattle drive.
