IOLA -- Fort Scott High School's golf program has picked up two team and two individual victories in as may days in Iola. Friday, the junior varsity took the Iola JV tournament with Tyler Cook as individual medalist. Monday, the Tiger varsity won the Buck Quincy Invitational with Chris Brown and Paul Norris taking the top two spots...

Fort Scott High School's tennis team won its home tournament Saturday, winning a tie-breaker with league rivals Pittsburg and Coffeyville. The Tigers, Pittsburg and Coffeyville each had nine points in the final tally of the five-team affair. Each school also had nine match wins from its entrants, leaving total games won as the tie-breaker. Fort Scott won 101 games while the other two won 98...

Fort Scott Community College's winning streak was at 13 games after a pair of sweeps --which included three consecutive shutouts -- over the weekend. It's the longest winning streak -- the only one in double digits -- for FSCC baseball in a decade. With the sweeps, Fort Scott moved ahead of Johnson County into second place with a division record of 21-9 and an overall mark of 31-16. ...
