Local man arrested in weekend slashing

The Bourbon County Attorney's Office filed charges Monday against a Fort Scott man accused of slashing an acquaintance with a knife over the weekend. Albert L. Arvizu, 24, was charged with one felony count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. On Monday a judge at Arvizu's first appearance in Bourbon County District Court ordered a bond screening. In the meantime, he is in custody at Southeast Kansas Regional Correctional Center...
