Helen "Gypsy" Hereford, age 81, resident of 1263 205th Street, Fort Scott, Kansas, died Thursday, November 15, 2007, at her home. She was born September 9, 1925, in Blythesville, Arkansas, the daughter of William Wheat and Ollie Epperson Wheat. She worked as a beautician in Fort Scott for many years and loved being with people. She was a member of Community Christian Church. She will be remembered as a wonderful cook who loved her family...

Fort Scott Police Department announced Thursday it will be stepping up traffic enforcement -- with an emphasis on impaired drivers and people not buckling up -- all next week through a state-sponsored initiative. FSPD will participate in the Kansas Thanksgiving Traffic Enforcement Mobilization Nov. 19-25.
