SPRING HILL -- Fort Scott High School's tennis team was unable to play as scheduled here Tuesday due to rain in the area. The Tigers will not return for the make-up as the other teams wanted to play October 1, according to Fort Scott head coach Lynn Bass, but that is the date of the Southeast Kansas League Tournament at Independence...

A 65-year-old Arizona man was arrested Sunday by a Bourbon County Sheriff's deputy after he allegedly got into a fight with two Fulton men and stole a truck owned by one of the men. Dennis J. Russell, of Lake Havasu, Ariz., was arrested in connection with aggravated battery, aggravated assault, felony theft, criminal damage to property and criminal trespass. He is currently in custody at the Southeast Kansas Regional Correctional Center...

The laughter is coming back to Fort Scott next weekend. Rising professional comedian Adam Ace, who last performed in Fort Scott in March 2006, is returning to perform a special show at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Liberty Theatre, 113 S.
