Uniontown to hold tournament

UNIONTOWN, Kan. -- Uniontown High School baseball boosters will host a youth baseball tournament June 1- 3 as a fund-raiser for the new baseball program that will begin play next spring. The tournament is for players 11 to 14 years old. Under these rules, a player can not turn 15 before May 1. There is a three-game guarantee under USSSA rules. Cancer survivor pours efforts into helping others

FORT SCOTT, Kan. -- Area resident Theresa Davenport will celebrate her fifth year as a cancer survivor this fall. The Farlington, Kan., resident was first diagnosed with a Stage-3 type melanoma in September 2002, when she discovered a tennis ball-sized growth in the lymph nodes in her neck.
