Local officials are planning to throw a party later this month in celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Bourbon County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Glenn W. Travis, age 86, of Cherokee, passed away on April 9, 2007 at the St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri. He was born December 28, 1920 in Fort Scott, the son of Joe R. and Emma L. (Denny) Travis. On October 16, 1948 he was united in marriage to Eunice M. French in Fairland, Oklahoma.
