Local man pleads guilty to sex with child

A Fort Scott man on Tuesday pleaded guilty to charges that he had sex with a 10-year-old girl. David A. Shockey, 37, accepted a deal in which he pleaded guilty to one felony count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. On the second aggravated indecent charge, he entered an Alford plea. The plea means Shockey doesn't admit the act and asserts innocence. He admits that evidence exists with which the prosecution could likely convince a judge or jury to find the defendant guilty...
