Tri-Valley Developmental Services in Fort Scott still needs to raise several thousand dollars in order to begin construction on a new greenhouse by this spring, company officials said this week. April 12 is the deadline for TVDS officials to come up with $106,000 in matching grant funds in order to start building the $150,000, 2,160-square-foot greenhouse near the company's Fort Scott facility, which would house the center's horticulture therapy program, TVDS horticultural therapist Barbara McCord said. ...

As a way of cutting back on unnecessary expenses, officials at the Southeast Kansas Regional Correctional Center are changing the ways they provide medication to inmates.
