Since John Daugherty retired as superintendent of the Fort Scott National Historic Site this spring, the site has had four different interim superintendents. Starting Nov. 12, however, that position will be filled on a full-time basis. The Kansas Parole Board rejected the release of a 47-year-old man convicted of rape and battery of a Bourbon County woman in 1993. On Oct. 10, the three-member board denied parole to inmate Steven G. Authorities in Florida arrested 29-year-old Albert E. Richmond on two warrants on drug and murder charges. Around 4 p.m. a fugitive warrant team arrested Richmond without incident at a motel in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., according to Pittsburg Police Maj. Brent Narges. He is expected to be extradited back to Pittsburg to face first degree murder charges, according to police...
